Feb 2, 2024

DATAC is proud to announce our first webinar of 2024 I was exposed to drugs! The truth about environmental exposure testing, hosted by Dr. Donna Coy, USDTL’s Laboratory Director with over 10 years of experience in the forensic toxicology field.

We are so excited to bring you this opportunity to learn more about the ins and outs of environmental exposure testing. Working in the drug testing industry it is likely that you have had social workers and lawyers alike question you regarding how much exposure is needed to affect a person, and/or for them to test positive on a drug test. There could also be many questions about how one would go about getting this testing done, as well as the time frames it would be looking at for when the exposure occurred.

Another important part about any kind of drug testing, environmental exposure included, is understanding how to interpret the results. Does no result mean there was no exposure, or does a positive result mean that there was an effect? These are two very common questions from social workers and lawyers alike, make sure to attend the webinar so you can be armed with the answers!

This webinar will look at such things as:

  • What sample types are used for environmental testing?
  • How are drugs incorporated into the sample?
  • How do you tell the difference between positives from environmental exposure vs.  ingestion?
  • Are test results legally defensible?
  • What trends are we seeing?

Dr. Coy will help shine light on how environmental testing works, what samples are tested and how, as well as interpreting results and whether they show environmental exposure or ingestion. Make sure to stay up to date with the latest trends in drug testing, register today for The truth about environmental exposure testing.
