My husband is a medicinal cannabis user and is trying to get a job driving in the U.S., will they accept his medicinal authorization?

Short answer, no, they will not accept his authorization. Truckers in the US are governed by the Department of Transportation (DOT) which has a very strict drug and alcohol policy and does not allow cannabis use, medicinal or otherwise. DATAC has a cannabis courses (the Basic one is free!) which can help answer more of your questions.

Why not? It seems to me that if your husband has a license to use medical marijuana, then everything will be fine. In general, I occasionally smoke weed from weeddelivery, and I’m sure that every driver has smoked weed at least once, but nevertheless, no one has problems with driving licenses, so don’t worry about it.

Actually, halomutov, it will NOT be all right. In the US the DOT regulates drivers, and cannabis is a schedule 1 (ILLEGAL) drug, federally, regardless of what each state’s rules may be. The DOT is a federal regulatory body, so there is NO use of cannabis not even medicinal (unless it is the ONE pharmaceutical pill which integrates it use – but no auth. to use, is viable). In Canada there are different rules with regard to this, and medicinal use could be acceptable with authorization and proof of purchase from a licensed producer.

I’m not sure about that in the USA, but I doubt it’s actually a good idea, and that he won’t have any problems with that because cannabis affects your brain, and people lose focus. In case with a driving job, it’s highly important. I can tell you that I smoke weed from https://getgreen.cc/ pretty often, but I never drive when I smoke because I know it’s not really safe.
